A warm welcome back to Cleveland, Parents and Students. I hope your break was filled with fun, family and festivities. I also want to thank you very much for the generous gifts and especially kind words written in your cards.
I'm excited to start out the 2015 year in our classroom, and hope you are as well (though getting up early Monday morning will be a bit tough for us all, I anticipate ;)
Don't forget to check our blog for student posts, information about homework and other goings on in the class. The calendar has been updated for the first week back. http://clevelande02.weebly.com/
A couple of important notes:
Wednesday is our Curling field trip!
If your name is not on the confirmed driver list below, please let me know if you can drive and how many as soon as possible. Though we are still short drivers for this trip, I'm 99% confident we will have enough room for us all Wednesday.
I will drive (3) and other confirmed drivers are Mrs. Rhodes (7) Mrs. Collins (6) & Mrs. Huang (4). This totals 20 seats, and we have 27 students in our class plus 2 adults attending.
We do want all students to attend. If for any reason your child is not participating, please contact myself or Mr. Beveridge. We have the means to provide bursaries if the cost of the trips poses a financial hardship for your family.
Friday is our Curriculum Implementation day, and all North Vancouver schools are closed. Teachers at Cleveland will gather with other Handsworth Family of Schools Teachers to learn about the Ministry of Education's Draft Provincial Curriculum and will focus on the new Core Competencies. See this link to learn more.
