All intermediate students will be taking part in three curling sessions on real rinks, after last year's gym class "Rocks and Rings" was such a success. Our thanks to Devon McHugh for arranging this. We are looking for PARENT DRIVERS and would like to confirm this and have all the paperwork completed ASAP, since our first session is the Wednesday we are back after Winter Break.
Please email Leslie at [email protected] if you are able to drive, and include how many students including your own you can accommodate. In order to drive students other than your own child, we must have on file;
We'd appreciate this all being done in December, so we are all set to go! Field Trip Forms will be coming home soon, but we thought we would get ahead of the game. Curling schedule, North Shore Winter Club Wed. Jan 7 - 9:30-11:00 a.m. Wed. Jan 14 - 9:30-11:00 a.m. Wed Jan 28 - 9:30-11:00 a.m. Thank you for attending to this as soon as possible, All the best, Leslie McGuire We are planning some activities for the new year that will require drivers. If you will be able to drive at any time this year, please visit the office for necessary forms and to have your current insurance documents copied.
We need a current copy of every drivers' current insurance, so when you pop in to get that done we can check to see if anything else is required. Our thanks for getting this done early - it is too busy the morning of a trip for us and the office to process all the necessary paperwork. Grade 7's were partnered and tripled up last week to get their crafts and goodies ready to sell at the annual Craft Fair Dec 10. They will need opportunities to get together outside of school, create their goods and record their budgets (keep those receipts, Grade 7's)! Please contact us if there are any challenges around this happening.
There is a lot going on at Cleveland these days!
Our Grade 6's will attend outdoor school Dec 1-5, and all Grade 7's will take part in a fun Architecture Week project. - more information will be posted next week, but students may begin gathering their building materials any time, now. We do have a Math Quiz Monday afternoon, and math in the morning for an opportunity to ask any last minute questions. Grade 7's will be asked to add, subtract, multiply and divide decimals. Grade 6's are asked to confirm their knowledge of place value, factors and multiples as well as prime and composite numbers. Last week, we planted Garlic with our buddies - it was great (stinky) fun for all, and we will be monitoring the growth of the bulbs over the year and in spring, especially. WEBSITE CHALLENGES: we are having trouble accessing the website in the afternoon, when trying to post homework and messages. We will try to do that in the morning to see if it makes a difference. Beginning next week, look for new guest bloggers! |
